Tantalum Sheets and Plates are made from high-quality tantalum added with tungsten and rhenium. These plates are essentially dark blue-gray metal plates with exceptional ductility and hardness. At temperatures below 150 degrees Celsius, the plates have superior corrosion resistance to various chemicals and dissolve only in hydrofluoric acids. Tantalum has the highest melting point, allowing for the formation of a protective and thin oxide layer.

Tantalum sheets are also used in certain missile components, chemical process, nuclear reactors, and nitrogen in the form of nitrides and oxides. Tantalum Plates are also used in the manufacture of vacuum furnace parts, thermowells, fasteners, and valve bodies. Tantalum Plates are also used as an orthopedic implant material, and it is a component of high-refractive-index glasses.
