Its high nickel content makes it resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion, as well as oxidation in air and reducing environments. Furthermore, its molybdenum content gives it superior resistance against organic acids such as formic and acetic acid, while its tungsten content provides additional strength and hardness.
